More Consistency in Your Golf Swing

A consistent swing is probably what many golfers dream of when our heads hit the pillow.

First, let us do a little review of the golf swing. To hit the ball squarely on the center of the club head you must take the club through the proper swing path. A normal swing path will allow the club to align itself correctly with the ball to hit the shot you are trying to hit.

Anyway, this process begins with your address, moves through your take away, into the back swing, into the transition between back swing also down swing, into contact, and finishes with the follow through.

The keys to a consistent swing are: 1) efficient golf swing mechanics and 2) the body. Golf Swing Mechanics

Golf Swing mechanics is perhaps the easier of the two areas to understand. Beginning at address, moving through all the stages of the golf swing, and finishing with the follow through, the body is required to move through a specific sequence of movements to perform the golf swing correctly. If the body does not move through this sequence properly and then the result will be a poor, inefficient and awkward looking swing.

Over time, a poor swing results in poor consistency (every once in awhile you hit a good shot regardless of your swing, that’s what keeps us coming back for more). And Then to the body performing an intricate number of biomechanical movements in the golf swing, timing of these movements is critical for you to hit the ball successfully.

Each and every biomechanical movement within the golf swing has a certain sequence and timing. If they are not performed in the correct order or timing, then the golf swing will not be efficient. Poor timing results in those wonderful slices, snap hooks, chili dips and topping the ball that we know all too well.

Now, how do we improve on the mechanics of the golf swing? 2) Practice, practice, practice. Fix the Engine that Swings the Club

One question perhaps help you realize the importance of “the body” when it comes to the golf swing. What swings the golf club?

Some of the answers I have heard are: “my hands,” “the swing,” “my hips” and even “the grip.” The answer is your body. It is the body that swings the club. So why is this so important to consistency in your golf game?

We know from our golf lessons, that there are certain positions the body is required to be in during the golf swing. Now, from the address position your body have to move the club on the correct path and generate club head speed to hit the ball accurately and with power. What most people do not understood is that for the body to perform the golf swing correctly, certain parameters need to be met by the body. If your body does not have the minimal levels of these factors in relation to the golf swing, then what do you think will happen? Well, let me tell you, it will be very difficult for the body to swing the club with the correct mechanics. So what does consistency in my golf swing really come down to?

It is important to understand that improvements in your golf swing mechanics and improvements in your body specific to golf are same important when it comes to creating a consistent golf swing. If you ignore either the body or the mechanics, it would be safe to say that your golf swing and game will suffer. Take some time on a routine basis to address both the mechanics of your swing and the body supporting it.

Golf Club Head Covers

Golf is an expensive game, it is much more expensive than playing basketball or even baseball, you need to get some lessons and golf apparel, and on top of that you got the equipment which is pretty pricey. If you are a golfer you are probably aware of this, and you probably know that there are many things you can use to protect your golf clubs.

Golf club heads, in particular, have to be taken cared of more than some other golfing accessory. No matter how meticulous you are with protecting your golf club heads, rust is inevitable. However, you can slow the problem down by getting the right shield - a golf club head cover, that is. Club heads are manufactured using chrome-plated carbon steel. Constant use of the club exposes the steel to moisture, abrasion, and friction, resulting, eventually, to rust (and a poor hit).

Using golf club head covers to protect the iron will help keep the area dry and delay rust formation. Some people say using club head covers will only trap the moisture in. For the stylish, funky golf club head covers could be a status symbol. Designer golf club head covers are available for sale to give your clubs that sophisticated look. If you’re into fun stuff, you can also buy golf club head covers that have profile designs. If you’re a fan of Bugs Bunny, there isn’t any reason why you couldn’t have a Bugs Bunny golf club head cover if you want to.

Again, golf, while criticized as being a game for the frail sportsman, is actually an activity that calls for more effort than it seems - intellectual effort, that is. However, none of the precise calculations would bring any golf game justice if the equipment of war are not in their best shape. Golf club heads are the most sensitive of all the golfing gear. Thus, they should be taken cared of and protected well with club head covers.

Nike SQ Dymo Driver Review

The Nike SQ Dymo and Nike SQ Dymo2 is definitely an attempt by Nike to significantly optimize launch and spin rates based on loft.  Nike PowerBow Weighting Technology allows the center of gravity (COG) to be placed where it’s most needed, by loft.  The lower the loft, the more forward and higher the COG, allowing for a more penetrating ball flight.  The higher the loft, the deeper and lower the COG, allowing for increased spin rates and generous launch results.

By all indications of the reviews, Nike has done well with the Dymo.  However, even though the #1 player in the world plays this driver, it does not necessarily mean it serves the mere mortals well.  So let’s take a closer look at this driver.

The Nike Dymo has four models - Dymo, Dymo2, Dymo STR8-Fit, and the Dymo2 STR8-Fit.  The basic differences between the two models (less the STR8-Fit) is one of shape, or as Nike puts it Round or Square Geometry.  The Dymo2 has a square-shape and the Dymo is more conventional in nature.  The Square is supposedly more “straight” while the round allows more shot shaping.  The STR8-Fit is a shaft adapter and hosel fitting system that allows the player to adjust the shape of his shot through a change in the setting, to up to 8 different shot shapes, Draw to Fade.

Actual Player Feedback-

“I was playing with the Ping Rapture driver and when i tried this driver i just had to get it great club gained 15yds on my drives. Its well worth the money”

“best driver i’ve had by far”

Pros/Positives-

This driver is made for the masses for sure.  The technology that went into this club definitely allows the average golfer to make strides in both accuracy and distance off the tee.  The PowerBow Weighting Technology definitely puts this driver on the map and worthy of consideration.

Cons/Negatives-

The stock shaft, the UST Wide Body with AXIV core is questionable.  Even though it is a lightweight shaft made by one of the best shaft manufacturers, having only one shaft option, in my opinion, severely limits the capability of this driver.

This is a nice review of the Nike Dymo-

Overall Rating-

The Nike SQ Dymo along with the added feature STR8-Fit is definitely worth a look.  Given that Nike has top-notch R&D, you are assured they will come out with decent products.

Build your own Golf website today

If Golf is your thing then why not build your own website on the subject!

Introducing the World’s FASTEST and EASIEST Custom Website Builder

If you thought that building a Golf website was difficult then think again!

Now you can create and build a complete custom Golf website with point and click and drag and drop ease in a matter of Minutes with the NEW 90 second website builder software.

There has never been a better time to get that online Golf idea up and running, and tell the world what you know.

The software requires NO HTML KNOWLEDGE to use. In fact, it is not even an HTML editor, but an HTML generator. You don’t even have to know there is HTML used. Just put images, text and other object on your page and your website is ready! You CAN however add any existing HTML to your page using the advanced page and object HTML tools.

Other traditional programs use a document “word” method for layout, where you can not pick up objects and drag them where you want them to go on the web page. With the new 90 second website software, you can drag and drop the objects anywhere you want. Giving you full control over the layout. You can even put objects on top (or below) other objects!

Traditional HTML editors use Dynamic Page Layout , which means that the first object on the page will also determine the position of the second object. Resizing or moving the first object will affect the complete layout of the page. You can not overlap objects when using Dynamic Page Layout.

The software generates a Fixed Page Layout. All objects have a fixed position which is not affected by other objects. This also allows you to overlap objects and give you much more control over the layout of the page.

But the software can do much more than that. You can add banners, navigation bars, ready-to-use javascripts and many other things that you can’t do using a regular HTML editor.

So building your Golf website could not be easier, go on you know you can do it!

Once you have your website builder software, there is an online resource members area where you can watch step by step videos of how to set up each stage of your first website. Why Offering Refundable Initiation Fees Can Destory Your Golf Club

Private Clubs have historically generally structured their golf membership offerings to include a provision for the return or refund of all or some portion of the initiation fee/ new members pay to join a golf club.

This initial payment is subject to defined conditions and terms as set within the golf club’s membership plan and by-laws. One of the most common scenarios provides a refund to a resigning member based on some formula, such as for every 3 or 4 new members who join; one resigning member receives a refund for a member ship. This formula continues until the golf club reaches its membership cap after which resigning members are repaid on a one to one basis. Additionally, sometimes the continuation of the payment of dues is required in order to receive a refund.

Can you answer the following question?

Every single week I speak to a private club having problems with membership. To gain a complete understanding of their particular situation I ask a series of questions that include the initiation fee obligatory to join the golf club. The majority of time, there is a provision for the return of a fraction or in some cases all of the initiation golf membership fee that is required. I then question the business reason behind the membership initiation fee structure that is in place and I typically get a response like, “I really don’t know” or “that’s a good question”.

Your golf club has the wrong kind of waiting list!

The return of an initiation fee can make a lot of sense if there is a sound business reason behind the plan and it works very well if the golf club is in a great market and is enrolling new members at a very rapid pace. However, more often than not, membership velocity begins to slow long before the club has reached a full complement of members and members who have decided to resign cannot be repaid at the time they wish to resign.

And membership resignations will always take place. Even in the finest of golf clubs, attrition rates are six percent or larger as members in many cases, even if they are totally content with their golf club, resign due to relocation, health issues, change of employment, and other interests. And, as noted earlier in this article, they may even be required to continue to pay for dues in order to receive their refund payment.

This leaves the golf club in the unattractive position of having a waiting list to leave the golf club, which not only poses a very significant financial hurdle, but also is a deterrent to having new members join.

How can I get my club out of this mess?

Now, there are solutions to getting out of a situation like this including:

  • Establishing new categories of membership.
  • Providing refunds to resigning members at a reduced amount. This would usually call for member consent.
  • Establishing a means for members to rent their membership or designate a beneficial user of the membership.
  • Establishing a non-refundable golf membership.
  • Making changes to the golf clubs by-laws.
  • Creating a re-callable membership.

However, caution must at all times be exercised. Trying any new approach without thoroughly considering the many factors involved including clearly understanding your market and where your club fits in it, your competition, your approach to prospecting for new members, your enrollment and attrition rates, what you are permitted to do legally, and the effects the changes may have on the club’s financial stability, may actually turn a bad situation into a worse one.

Get professional assistance now!

Does your golf club currently have a list of members waiting to leave the club? Are you just opening a new golf club and structuring your golf membership offer? Does you golf resort management company have a golf membership sales program in place to preserve your current members as well as bring in new ones? Do not simply assume that the way membership plans have been set up for decades is the right approach for you. Do not fall into the trap of short term thinking or advice from well intentioned friends or board members who are not professionals with experience in the membership or golf club business. The decisions you make today have a considerable impact on how successful or not your club will be in enrolling new members 3 or 4 years from now.

Nippon V90 Shaft Review

Overview/Technology-

Nippon shaft for irons have been around a long time.  With that length of time comes accumulated knowledge of how a shaft should perform.  They know shafts, because they’ve been in the trenches coming up with new technology and offering to the golfing public.

I was browsing their website recently and came across this on their home page which I whole-heatedly agree:

“The shaft is one of the most important yet most overlooked elements of golf equipment. The fact is,the proper shaft can make a major difference in club performance and in your enjoyment of the game of golf.”

That said, Nippon is without a doubt a leader in the golf shaft market, especially the iron shafts.  Nippon shafts come standard in many of the top golf club manufacturers including Cleveland, Mizuno, Nike, Ping, and Srixon.  That says a lot for the trust factor of Nippon.

Nippon offers many models and we will delve deeper into each of their models individually in later reviews.

The Nippon Models-

Nippon 750GH- The Lightest of the Nippon steel shafts, designed for a stable, fluid swing.

Nippon 850GH- Rapidly growing in popularity, pegged as “attacking” shaft.  Still an ultra-lightweight model that features an easy contact thanks to their light weight and consistent directionality.

Nippon 950GH- Nippon’s top-selling model and probably the favorite among golfers of most all levels looking to take their game to the next level.

Nippon 1050GH- A heavier model made for golfers that like to hit hard.

Nippon 1150GH Tour- Another shaft made for golfers that hit hard.  The 1150GH TOUR Steel shaft for irons (Semi-lightweight type) the semi-lightweight steel shaft.

Nippon 950 GH WF- The long irons combine easy-swinging light weight with easy contact — plus the kind of distance you have to experience to believe.  Short irons provide a slightly heavier feel for stability.

Nippon V90- Inherits likened performance of the 950GH but while further reducing weight to 90 grams and using a lower center of gravity.

Actual Feedback-

“Nippon 990 Uniflex in my irons and they are the best steel shafts I’ve used”

Pros/Positives-

Nippon is certainly one of the top steel shaft makers around and it shows.  They have a loyal following that swear this is the best steel shaft available.

Cons/Negatives-

Probably not as well known as Rifle and True Temper due to it’s basically an Asian shaft, but nevertheless retain a large market.

Overall Rating-

I would confirm Nippon are among the best, if not the best iron shafts available today.  They provide a wide variety of options/models and have a strong following.  I recently did a Poll on the favorite steel shaft and Nippon came in a close second to Rifle ahead of True Temper!  For more great Golf Shaft Reviews, please visit Golf Gear Select, the Home of the Golf Review.

The “Instant Golf Slice Cure”, It’s What Every Golfer Needs To Have Today

The problem with some people who are into golf is that they thought all the while there is no sweat learning this game. You just need to hold a stick or whatever they call it and with all your might, whack the ball right across the golf course. But that’s not golf is. Like most sports, you need some actual effective training beforehand and once you did, you can now get “hitting the road”. You need to practice your swing, you need to practice your putt and you need to a good “golf slice fix”.

There are dozens of training aids that can help you in fixing your golf slice, but many don’t help you accomplish this. But some of these trainings in the form of book guides and other downloadable “How to Golf Slice” learning tools are not that effective or are not reliable at all. Isn’t that a little bit painful to the head? You get all excited, you go and buy that product then, you found out it’s a dud.

There are many stories that you can hear regarding this. It’s really very pretty remarkable how much money is spent on these not effective training aids that can never solve the maladies of a golfer. These golf equipment companies seem to care for themselves more than their customers and they are becoming good at it, wouldn’t you agree? Marketing magicians.

Anyway, it’s good that today there is an existence of the Internet and for golfers who need to learn how to fix golf slice, they can just sit at home, browse the World Wide Web and hopefully find a good book guide or anything that can help them learn how to do golf slices the right way. One particular e-book guide is called The Golf Slice Cure which has been the most sought-after book guide for golfers for fixing their golf slice. You can assure yourself that this is the real thing because it was not created by any golf equipment companies but by a professional golfer.

Are You Too Good For Knockoff Golf Clubs?

Everyone is looking for a bargain these days. Why shouldn’t golfers get a price break also? Well, you can if you have the right mindset. Knock off golf clubs provide a perfect way for a golfer to save a bunch of money. What are your feelings toward discount golf clubs? Do you think that only name-brand golf clubs work to hit a golf ball? Are you a professional golfer?

The reason professional golfers play major brand golf clubs is that they are essentially given the golf clubs to use. Brand name golf clubs companies do this in order to have their brand name presented to lots of amateur golfers. This provides cheap advertisement for the golf club companies and cheap golf clubs for the professional golfer.

Professional golfers that have their tour card are given seed money to play certain name brand golf clubs. Every time they make the cut in a golf tournament, they receive more money toward golf clubs. Win a tournament and they receive even more money toward those golf clubs. This is in addition to the money they win from the tournament.

Of course, the professional golfer wants to play golf clubs that they are comfortable and confident swinging. The major golf company wants as many golfers as possible to play their golf clubs. Toward this end, the golf clubs are modified in any way that the professional golfer wants. Making the adjustments to those major brand golf clubs would cost quite a bit for the amateur golfer.

The bigger the marketing budget of the major brand golf club manufacturer, the more prevalent their golf clubs will be on professional tours and the more their brand name will be in front of regular golfers that will pay full price for those golf clubs.

Those major brand golf club manufacturers have to attend to the adjustments that pro golfers constantly require. This includes special vans and personnel on site to make those adjustments as the players request them. Do you think you could pay for that kind of attention? Yes, you pay for the attention those pros are getting every time you purchase major brand golf clubs. Those expenses are passed on to the consumer.

You may also want to purchase major brand golf clubs and not worry about whether or not they actually fit you and your golf swing. This is a major mistake if you want to get the most out of your golf clubs.

Clone golf clubs that are custom made to your physical characteristics provide the best value for your money. You won’t be spending a ton of money for a major brand that isn’t doing you any good. You will also enjoy those clubs because they will allow you to best opportunity to play well.

Find Golf Slice Tips From This Book Guide

If you are a golf player, either you are just a newbie or have been playing this game for so long now, you need to understand every aspect in golf in order to perfect your game. For example, if you have problems with your golf slice and you need to cure it, you first need to understand why the slice is such a problem and why you need to learn how to correct golf slices. The golf slice is one of the things that a golfer would love to perfect.

Now, if you just can learn how to fix a slice, you will be able to gain a few more yards. But the only malady for most golf players is that they just don’t have any brilliant idea yet on how to fix that problem. Yes, you can fix your golf slice but how? For most people, it is easier to ask around or get help with somebody who knows how to golf slice the right way. But that is not the only option. If you ask me, I would vehemently try all means just to perfect my game of golf. I would invest in a lot of things. Come on, as a golfer, you have invested a lot of money from the clothes that you wear when you play to the golf equipment that you use. So, why not try to make an investment in something like learning tools like DVDs or book guides, right?

To cure a slice you will need to find some golf slice tips and they can either be explained in books or DVDs. You could visit your local golf professional but the danger here is a placebo effect, which means, you could be back in your old way after departing with a pro and leave you without any real reference so that you can somehow “correct” yourself. If I were you, I will invest on book guides for fixing golf slice, fixing golf swing and other learning tips any golfer would like to know.

The Three Best Golf Balls

The golf game is forever increasing in popularity, its not just professionals that play it these days. If you visit the local golf course these days you are now more likely to see them trying to improve their skill set. This being said though what is the best golf game ball around? Let us have a look at the top three most popular balls.

Titleist

If you are looking at this from a brand perspective, then these are probably the best balls. The Titleist Pro V1 is by far probably the best ball you can play with and it is in fact what a lot of the professional players play with. Taking this into account I feel that you have to be well on top of your game to play with these kinds of balls.

Callaway

I do believe that the Callaway balls are the one to use for practice games, games that are not really too severe. The price of these balls are reasonable, but on some occasions depending on which model you would like you may have to go into a gold specialist store.

Nike

Nike is probably the biggest brand out of all three of them, Nike have millions of dollars and with that comes a huge selection of different golf balls. You can probably pick up the golf balls in any high street store, as we all know Nike knows how to distribute their products. The best balls in their range though have to be the Nike One Black and Platinum and on top of this they are all very reasonably priced.

If you are looking to better your game I would ideally look at getting the best quality ball to begin with as you do not want to end up picking up bad habits.
